Now available: New Visio stencil of musical instrument pedals. This is a collection of generic types of pedals commonly used on stage by guitarists, bassists, and other musicians. Plans for Version 1.3.1

It’s time again to start considering the next batch of improvements. I have some bigger ideas I am not ready to discuss yet for a major revision, but for some minor changes, I am considering these:

Update Status Bar. Change the status bar so that variable-sized messages and Key data don’t resize the text boxes.
Fix: Handle Read-only files. Properly handle Read-only files and add the option to save files as read only.
Backup Files. Save files with Backup extension and set as read only.

Any other suggestions?

Under Lock and Key Version 1.3.0 Released!

Under Lock and Key 1.3.0 has been released! Click here for the Downloads page for new features.

Most of the new features make the program easier to use. Changes are now automatically saved. Multiple Keys and Accounts can be deleted or added to favorites. Inactive Accounts or Keys show up as grayed out. There is a new option for a Default Key Action. The default Key Action is set to ‘Edit’. So, if you double-click a Key, it will open in Edit mode. Other options include adding to Favorites, or copying data to the clipboard.

A couple of new fields have been added as well, such as a comments field for Keys, and a Date / Time stamp for both Accounts and Keys.

If you have downloaded and find Under Lock and Key useful, the update will make managing your encrypted data even easier! Oh, and please make a donation!

Multiple Key Actions. For instance, selecting multiple keys for deletion all at once, or selecting multiple keys for setting to ‘Inactive’ status.
Default Double-Click Action. Ability to set a default action such as Add to Favorites, Edit, or copying data to the clipboard.
Showing passwords as asterisks (*) in details view. If Keys are displayed in the details view, currently, the passwords are displayed. There should be a function that either only shows them on hover, or by toggling.
Comment Field for Keys. An additional field for comments for each Key.
Last Modified Date for Keys. A Date/Time stamp showing the last time a Key was updated. This may be helpful if you have made backups and want to make sure you have the most up-to-date password for a given Key.

Welcome to AryxSoft!

The first software available for download from AryxSoft is entitled “Under Lock and Key“. It is a password and discreet information management program. What differentiates this application from the myriad of other similar programs out there is it’s simplicity and portability. All data is encrypted and stored in a proprietary database file. This file can be kept on a USB key to work on other computers. Included with the download is a reader program, which requires no special installation. Just take it with the file, and your password protected data is available wherever you take it!

This program is small and fast and very easy to set up and use. It is also Donationware. It is free, but if you like it and find it useful to you, please make a donation to help fund additional work on this and other AryxSoft applications.
